“When Andy Turner started collecting drum related rarities from the Fat City shop in Manchester, it was only a matter of time before the conversation switched to their use as a production tool. A week later a tape filled with infectious loops with incredible arrangements was put into the hands of the then single label employee. Astonished that the demos had been conceived and executed on a second hand Amiga with free software from the front of a computer magazine, it was immediately apparent that there was a hunger to get things done.

So how did Aim get from those worn out tapes to the now classic ‘Cold Water Music’ and soon to be essential ‘Hinterland’?
Spending 36 hours looking for the exact sample to complete a tune, Spending days arranging four bars when most people would be looking for the easy way out; Hunting breaks on foot and over the internet; Accessing the music of his fathers jazz drumming as well as his own past as a drummer in legendary barrow bands; Most of all, however, Aim has an incredible ear for melody and timing which makes the drums tell a complete story - a skill so many contemporary producers fail to exercise.

A keen ear for the right rapper and a demon song writing ability has seen Aim make a real difference in modern British music - showing that vision and skill can be fully appreciated in a market place that is filled with plastic."
